Ben Federman: A Multi-million E-retailer who Gives away a Half of his Earnings to Charity Works

Ben Federman, an American entrepreneur, is the founder and CEO of a large deal website 1SaleADay which offers one hugely discounted item that is approximately 80-90% off in every 24 hours in the categories of jewelry, watches, electronics, and household goods. Success, however, did not come overnight for Ben. The initial two years did not show any miracle, yet he continued working on the website and the products. Gradually his name spread by word of mouth and he successfully made a strong social presence across social networks which started giving him a fairly good profit. By the middle of 2011, sales went up to 30,000 items a day and 1SaleADay became one of the top 500 E-Commerce websites with more than 150 million visitors every year.

He has also founded some other online deal sites that include Dynamite Time for watches, Ben’s Outlet for electronics, and Shadora for jewelry, PaperGoods for paper, and GlassesUnlimited for eyeglasses. He makes direct contacts with his customers through Facebook page that has more than 340,000 fans by the end of 2011. Ben has been featured in Entrepreneur Magazine’s young millionaires of 2011, The New York Times, New York Daily News, PBS Nightly Business Report, Crain’s New York Business, and The Miami Herald and appeared on Fox Business in 2011.

So far, he has donated half of his companies’ earnings to various charity works. He primarily donates for homeless’ shelters, educational outreach programs, special children welfare, multicultural community events and military affiliated charities. “When it comes to charity, there’s no limit to how wide you can go…The more you grow your business, the more you can help others. That’s so important.”
