Dr Ujjwal Patni is a dentist turned self-help author of 6 books published in more than 12 languages, a popular motivational speaker with more than one million audience across 100 + cities worldwide, corporate trainer for small as well as giant multinational companies, an advisor to various Government and private organizations, and a personal excellence coach. Over the years, people have been converting their travelling time into learning time by listening to his motivational speeches through mobiles and iPods.
An ordinary Childhood
He was born in Chhattisgarh on the 13 November, 1973 in a Jain Business family. He sadly expressed in one of the interviews that he didn’t understand the meaning of death when his father expired at a young age and he was busy playing with friends. He was the first member of his joint family who went to an English medium school but proved to be a below average student who was more interested in debates, extempore, drama, playing chess and making science models. Eldest in a family of three brothers, he used to dream big about everything other than studies.

After getting admission in the dental college, his passion and seriousness for studies became prominent and his fondness for education increased with the time. The journey that he started as a mediocre student evolved him into a multi-talented with commendable accomplishment in diverse fields and his name got enlisted in toppers’ list. He holds a bachelor in dental surgery with specialization in cosmetics, Masters in Business Administration, Masters in Political Science, Certifications in human rights, Consumer protection, and the list goes on. After 10 years of successful dental practice, he felt restless on a true call of his childhood dream from deep within. He listened to his soul and chose to follow his childhood passion. He was trapped between the lucrative career in medicine and his childhood passion; initially, it was a tough decision at that age… but he realized that life is limitless, beautiful and very exciting on balancing your priorities. He prioritized his passion on top of his rewarding career and as the consequence, his life become a rewarding gift. “I evolve as a better person every moment in the process of training and helping others to be happy.” He says.

From Guinness world record to the list of awards – Make your mark
His accomplishments earned him worldwide fame and a widespread media attention when he entered his name in the Guinness book of world records in 2006. The leadership event titled as Singing Marathon was intended to motivate youth to break their mental barriers. He created a special team named Durg Bhilai Lifecraft to make this world record in a small hometown located in a remote tribal dominated state Chhattisgarh. This was the first and the longest choir singing record from India created by shattering the Canadian world record.
As a trainer he was awarded with the first Best corporate trainer award by Management teachers consortium global, an apex Asia level body of management wizards.
To recognize his extraordinary literary achievements, government felicitated him with prestigious pundit Sunderlal Sharma literary award and he became the youngest ever recipient of this award at the age of 37 years.
The Indian Jaycees, allied to worldwide individual development organization JCI, awarded him with Kamal Patra in 2006, the biggest individual national award given for extraordinary overall achievements to people under 40 yrs. He also got a lifetime achievement award in 2010 when he was just under forty.

Just now when I was about to finish the article, I saw the front page of Dainik Bhaskar of today, 3 October, that showed Dr Patni dressed as Mahatma Gandhi in dhoti, dupatta, Gandhi goggle, moustache and a lathi. His wife dressed as Kasturba Gandhi and both leaded a procession of 1000 Gandhi’s from Sabarmati ashram to Gandhi statue at Ahmedabad to make a Guinness World record at a event organized with the blessings of Saint Shri Tarunsagar ji Maharaj. Guinness Book of world records officially declared it a world record. So the celebration continues as he enters in to Guinness book of world records for the second time.
