The 12 Thoughts that are Crushing your Dreams

Basement Series: Sadness

Mind is a battlefield where conflicting and self-limiting thoughts reside only to drag us down to defeat and deprive us of inner-peace and happiness. This is one of the prominent reasons why not all of us end up living our dreams.
It is up to us how patiently we continue our aggressive fight against the devil inside and get rid of its residue – uncleanness and seed of rampant growth of pessimism. Our vigilance and resilience will determine our victory or defeat.
So watch out your tiny thoughts that actually edify you about which way you are taking your life to…

I’m not talented .

‘I am possibly not talented enough to make it happen’ is the most compelling piece of content that bothers you with self-doubt.

Don’t justify your negative thoughts that start with a doubt. They are the traitors that ensure you loose what your could potentially win. If the haunting Demon within ever tries to persuade you with thoughts such as ‘I cannot do’ or ‘I’m not as talented as successful people’, then beat it down with all your heart and soul. Don’t stop yourself from experiencing the journey of being great. There is not harm if your inner critic informs you with something but it shouldn’t tear apart your self-esteem and faith that you can do it.

I have got no time…

It is the most common and favorite phrase of excusist to escape for the easy way. But the simple fact is we are all busy in rat race, we all live in tight schedules, obstructions, problems and dilemmas… what makes the difference is giving importance to the things we prioritize and sparing time to achieve what really means for us.

Remember the quote of H. Jackson Brown Jr. “Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.”

So, it’s certainly not about ‘having time’ rather ‘making time’. If something is significant for you, you will find time anyway.

I’m not ready..

Opportunities don’t make an appointment before they arrive, they don’t wait for you either until you get ready. Therefore, you have to be ready whenever they appear. They come like a positive force that tells you to come out of your comfort zone and grow emotionally as well as intellectually.

I would say have the courage to do for what you aren’t ready.

It’ a big problem…

“Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines.” – Robert H. Schuller

Stop complaining as it does no good to you besides it bores everyone else around. No problem is too big to be handled, so better you find place within where courage resides and tell him to continue the fight with focus during distressful periods of time.

I knew I wasn’t good enough for it…

Struggle is a part of life and without it we would have been crippled. Being rejected from something doesn’t mean you are a failure, it does also mean you are directed toward something greater and bigger than your dream. It’s just the matter of discovering your limits. Remember, it’s ok if you’ve messed up something because that’s how you become wiser.

I have nothing to be thankful for to anything or anyone…

A little gesture of appreciation is the greatest virtue with which you end up having more. It improves the quality of life, unlocks the fullness of life, turns your negative viewpoint into positivity, denial into acceptance, confusion into clarity, chaos into order, and pain into peace and creates vision for future. So, you can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift you’ve have got —life itself.

Research shows people who show their gratitude are far less depressed and stressed and are more focused on accomplishing their goals.

I’m big enough to cry…

Don’t be ashamed to cry! It’s OK to grieve sometimes to lighten you up. Remember tears are nothing bur water, without which there will be no flowers, trees and fruits. Without tears we are just robot. You should welcome the sunlight too to grow up.

I decline to forgive…

By holding resentment toward someone you keep a stronger emotional link left with that person. Forgiveness is the only way of relieving oneself of the burden of being a victim, dissolving that link and letting go of the suffering and becoming the survivor. Choose to be the person who is substantial enough to move on.

I can’t take risks anymore…

“A ship is safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are for” ― William G.T. Shedd

Noting ventured = nothing gained; fortune takes the side of those who dare. This life is worth living if you don’t risk your well-being, your body, or life to reveal the human spirit. Taking thoughtful risks is like liberating yourself from the greatest ‘fear’, which actually is the real culprit of everything.

There is no harm breaking this promise…

The quality of life is directly related to the commitment towards excellence that assists you in attaining the success you seek. The promise you make towards anything shouldn’t be broken because it’s not the word rather an act without which there is no plans but hopes.

One little lie wouldn’t hurt…

Lying is a vicious ailment that convinces you for more every next time. There is no harm if you tell a lie to anyone, but let’s concede to the fact that the more you lie the less trustworthy you become. Lies seem to be delicious, brilliant and powerful until they fade into ignorance and weak resolve. There is a beauty in telling the truth even if it’s painful.

They have it easier than me…

Nobody has it easier than you and every one of us has our own fights and battles to live our dreams. Don’t just live rather live for a purpose greater and bigger than yourself; so don’t pray for easy life which isn’t worth living. In the end, we all have to bid adieu this wonderland. So let’s get busy in making the best use of our spirit and make this single precious life worthwhile.

The World is yours….

The road to success is not easy to navigate but when you’re determined to say ‘NO’ to such small crushing thoughts, the world becomes your oyster! 🙂
