Success happens for a mere moment in time; then it’s gone, we chase another and in the meantime we just don’t enjoy the process. So let’s do things beyond success. Let’s live the life of quality, enjoyment, and wisdom that are our birthright and let’s modify the ways of seeing the world to have a simple, happy and uncomplicated life.
Following things you must be doing in life regardless of success or failure:
Saying YES to Change
It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change. –Charles Darwin
Constant and consistent readjustment to our environments is the art of life or we can say the law of life where rejecting the ‘Architect of Decay – Change’ is like averting the growth and welcoming sorrow, pain and suffering. You resist change for a number of reasons – don’t see benefits, don’t feel valued, it hurts and feel afraid of the ‘What’s Next’ and the list goes on…; whereas the truth is change will come even if you don’t greet it. Instead of resisting, allow it to unfold and give you the branches to spread, grow and reach new heights.
“When you’re finished changing, you’re finished.”
Perusing your Passion that has Faded
You don’t do what you want do and you can’t contemplate pursuing your passion dumping your handsome paying-job either. Therefore, you have no other option other than downplaying your interests and feelings. After a while, what once was a passionate interest, becomes a fading dispassionate memory and you are left with no desire to renew it outside your day to day reality.
If you don’t want to move through the motions or you feel a deeper and powerful urge that continues to build something inside you, then don’t give up. Instead of creating convenient excuses, think about a baby step ’15 minutes of commitment’ towards what you love to do. It’s really empowering because it takes you to a new direction.
Accept the fact; clear out clutter that is holding you back; get rid of the stuffs of little or no importance in your life; and gradually make space for your own loving things and that is it.
Taking the Road Less Traveled
‘Taking the road less traveled’ – it seems scary because you commit your life to cause higher than yourself. You are supposed to walk The road that is fraught with barricades bumps and uncharted terrain. You will face self doubt, fall many a times and will have to cover longer range without any guidance.
Then why should I take the road less traveled if it takes longer time and is full of uncertainties? Do you think ‘Road Less Traveled’ is dotted with glory and success?
Do you do everything for material or emotional reward? Dozens of people die in climbing the Mount Everest every year, people go and get lost in the Death Valley; people travel the notoriously famous road in Bolivia ‘The Road to Death’ that has already claimed hundreds of lives; People go to Norway’s most beautiful but most dangerous place ‘Troll Tongue’ just to experience the breath-taking view it offers…well they don’t go for monetary reward I guess, they must be going for spiritual reward or satisfaction.
And it takes a lot of courage to carry on if you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Travelling Alone
Adventure travel is not only thrilling but a huge self-confidence boaster, soul liberating and completely rewarding with full of moments and ‘Me Time’. In the safe sanctuary of home you live a very ordinary or rather a structured life where there is not much possibility of fostering inner growth or possessing the power of taking crucial decisions.
Travelling in unknown territory has a reflective effect on the depth and quality of your life. In the unpredictable environment, you are exposed to your own fear and there is no escape. Facing them actually expands your self-awareness, increases your tolerance for risk, patience for handling them more intelligently and helps build an intimate and eternal relationship with mother nature (where you can make some crazy acquaintances with harmless creatures).
Trying hands in different businesses
‘Don’t doubt in trying. Just stop pondering and do it’. If you have many business ideas, there is absolutely no harm in trying your hand on some of them because it’s not about ideas but about making ideas happen. If you are frustrated at any point of time, which is common, then use courage which is your grace under pressure. If you are struggling because things are going against, then think of how airplane takes off against the wind, not with it (Henry Ford). If you fail, fail boldly but don’t get discouraged by it. Be a true entrepreneur in doing, not in dreaming.
There can be lots of bad reasons to try different businesses or start a company. But there’s only one good and legitimate reason to just start off and you know what it is: if you never try, then you never know.
Changing Someone’s Life
“I’m only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something, and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do that something I can do” Edward Everett Hale
Giving is such an impeccable feeling which not only soothes other but also yourself. Regardless of your financial circumstances, you possess the power of giving. Love can be a present, smiling at someone (can be anybody) can liberate you, buying a Stanger’s a cup of tea or coffee or meal can work excellent.
Remember what Anne Frank said, ‘No one has ever become poor by giving’? she stated it when life was the most cruel to her, when hardships crushed her soul and crumbled her to the bones. Yet she insisted on giving.
Telling the Truth is Such a Wisdom
“The Five Levels of Truth-Telling: First, you tell the truth to yourself about yourself. Then you tell the truth to yourself about another. At the third level, you tell the truth about yourself to another. Then you tell your truth about another to that other. And finally, you tell the truth to everyone about everything” Neale Donald Walsch Conversations with God (Book 2)
Truth is the light with which you can create your magnificent world; whereas, lie is a deception that has a devastating power to control you. Have the courage to speak the truth and face the Truth.
Do the right thing because it is right for you and is the only way to live with honour in the world. Every lie has a consequence from which you can never escape.
Face your Biggest Fear; Result is Wondrous
Do you remember yourself as a kid back in the time when you would take joy in simple activities such as making bubbles through the wand, playing the character of your favourite superhero, blowing the birthday candles and wishing for something that you thought would someday come true? You are wondering where is that enthusiast, a dreamer and happy person gone?
The biggest reason of loosing that youthful exhilaration and playfulness is the mind-killer FEAR that arrived just to rob your eternal power to create barriers and limitations for youself.
There is nothing enlightening in shrinking and confining your light which is supposed to shine the world with your own colour.
Confront your own fears head on, look at them squarely in the eye, determine how to give a good fight and see how they will slink out of your sight. Remember action breeds confidence, to experience adventure liberate yourself from FEAR.
“You know, sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage. Just literally 20 seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.” Benjamin Mee: We Bought A Zoo
Attending your Favourite mMsician’s Concerts:
Researchers say that listening to music boosts your energy, causes an increase in brain wave activity linked to memory, and initiates problem-solving power; Neuroscientists say that listening to music enhances positive emotion through the reward centres of our brain. So, attend your favourite musicians concerts. Few hours of that joyful moments and extraordinary environment has widespread effects outside of that concert. It refreshes you with the spiritual bath that empowers you for handling things around very simply and quietly.
“I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.” – Billy Joel
Stepping out of Stagnant Life:
Stagnant water provides a nourishing and nurturing environment for breeding various diseases that’s what you know very well. Water that flows is certainly the resource of fresh and clean water. That’s the nature and so is the journey of growth in life.
There are times when your life feels automated or stagnant but it is a symptom of a real deeper issue you should work on. Switch off the robot mode and tedious schedule of your life – waking up early in the morning, gobbling down your breakfast, rushing towards your work place through the same route, returning home frustrated and exhausted, watching same boring TV programs or news and going to bed without caring for anything around. It eats up the essentiality of life. There isn’t much left to stimulate your mind, body and spirit to live a gratifying life. Lift yourself up to a higher version and think about what propels you to get moving towards more ardent, spirited & love-filled life? The fuel that once would ignite a burning desire runs dry in the middle of your hectic life? Come out of your wrapped up life, forget about the logistics and try something very different from your daily life:
Take different routes to work every day, slow down to appreciate the view.
Share your ideas with like-minded people to stimulate mental muscle and visualize your goal more clearly and closely
Challenge yourself to go outside your comfort zone, take risk and promise not to give up.
Take a deep breath to circulate oxygen and nature’s healing energy.
You are in driving seat and are free to drive fast or a little slow; take some left or right turns; or drive some extra miles to experience what’s left there for you.
